Urban underwear Style and fitting Guide

Please use this guide to help you find the best underwear for your needs, whether your shopping for yourself or for someone else. We have devised some golden rules and adivse below that will help you get the most out of your shopping experience.

• If you're a lucky to have a small build you can always wear fitted underwear. A trunk or hipster style will give you a better fit than traditional boxer shorts or boxer briefs.
• If you're of a larger build then briefs or even boxer briefs will give you the best silhouette.
• Prints will fill you out and plain black will make you thinner.
• Micro fibre mixes always have the best fit and the thinnest material.
• If in doubt about your size, always order one size up. Small, tight underwear can look bad as well as feel uncomfortable.
• If you're wearing fitted trousers with thin material, then wear micro fibre mixes. Cotton seams will show through your trousers.
• For sports use a breathable fabric, some underwear have been specifically designed for sport use and have antibactirial properties.  
• If in doubt about your order try them on over your own underwear and if your not happy with them then send them back to us. We will give you a refund or advise you on something more suitable.    

Brief

Fit

The brief used to be an old style 'daddies' kind of underwear, functional and traditional with little sex appeal. However, over the last few years briefs have made a real comeback with variations in fabrics, low waist hipster style cut and colorful patterns giving them a cheeky fun look. But don't forget they are highly functional when it comes to comfort and support.

Briefs feature a high leg cut with full seat coverage, giving almost the best support. This type of underwear is ideal to wear with trousers in the office as the tighter fit does not allow material to gather or ride up, especially if your wearing a fitted pair of trousers.  

Variations

Hipster brief: As above but with slightly lower waist band which is ideal for low cut or hipster type trousers or jeans. The hipster brief with a thick band has been at the forefront of bringing briefs back into fashion.

Sport brief: As above but usually features a front pouch sewn to the waistband, often using a more flexible material giving grater maneuverability.

Boxer Short

Fit

The traditional boxer short is made from 100% cotton material and is straight legged. This particular type has a classic style to it which does not follow the shape of the body, so it is ideal for men that find boxer briefs difficult to fit or prefer that looser free feel. 

A boxer features a low leg cut with full seat coverage, and a loose fit. This style is Ideal under loose fitting trousers and for men who seek freedom of movement above all.

Boxer Brief

Boxer briefs are actually more traditional then boxer shorts. However, over the years they have been made into real style icons of the underwear world, with better styling and better fabrics. They tend to be more expensive than other men's underwear, simply through using more material so you will find that they come in more basic styles.

A boxer brief features a low leg cut (slightly shorter than the length of a boxer but varying by collection), full seat coverage, and a close fit. This style is Ideal for men who seek the coverage of a boxer with the support of a brief, and for men who seek a sculpted lower silhouette.

Variations

Hipster boxer: As above but with slightly lower waist band which is ideal for low cut or hipster type trousers or jeans. Also ideal if you are sitting all day in an office as the very short leg material will have little or no ride up. This is a really sexy version of the boxer and when you're out to impress they won’t let you down!

Trunk: These are like their swimming counterparts. They’re a pair of boxer briefs that are fitted. Low leg cut, full seat coverage and a tight fit. Trunks and hipsters made up the bulk of fitted men's underwear as they tend to have the most sex appeal and widest usage. 

Thong

Thongs are not for everyone. But for those that wear thongs you will notice the great fit and the sexy feel that comes with them. They're best used when it’s hot or humid and especially if you're wearing cloths such as linen trousers.

A thong features a front pouch that is sewn to the waistband, minimal leg coverage, and a thin fabric band that sits between the buttocks. This style is Ideal for men who seek frontal support and freedom of movement with a revealing, sexy look.

String: The string variation is often confused with the thong. The string is exactly what is says it is, a front pouch that is sewn to a sting waistband, minimal leg coverage and string that sits between the buttocks.
